Furniture first, wardrobe second, and the room takes longer than the outfit does.
The nook goes in the living room in front of the big windows, and you place the pieces yourself: a sofa or a rocking chair, a small coffee table, a lamp and a fluffy rug, with colours and patterns chosen separately. Only then does Barbie get dressed to sit in it. Matching the outfit to the room you have just built is the interesting half, and by that point the room is fixed.
