School archetypes are visual shorthand, and dressing to them deliberately shows how thin the shorthand actually is.

The queen bee look is expensive, current and coordinated to the point of being a uniform. The nerd look is comfortable, mismatched and indifferent to what anybody thinks, which is a different kind of confidence entirely. The clothes are not really the difference. The difference is how much effort is on display, and that shows in fit and finish more than in any individual garment.

Build both on the same character and the archetypes start to look less solid, which is the interesting outcome.
