The premise is a winter shopping trip, so the wardrobe is stocked with sparkle: glittery outfits and accessories, mixed and matched until a combination holds. The difficulty is that a coat is a large flat shape, and a large flat shape covered in glitter stops looking like clothing and starts looking like wrapping.

Put the shine where the body narrows. A glittering top under a plain coat, or a sparkling bag against a wool sleeve, keeps the outfit reading as winter clothing instead of decoration.
