School is a tighter brief than a ball, and that is what makes this one useful practice.

Several princesses start at the same school on the same morning, and the outfits have to be fashionable without tipping into costume. No gowns, no tiaras, nothing that would draw a comment in a corridor. A dress up game with a real world limit is rarer than it sounds, and much of the princess wardrobe is off limits here by implication rather than by lock.

Layering is what the game rewards. A jacket or cardigan over a simple base reads as considered, while a single statement piece reads as dressing up for the wrong occasion.
