Lady Jane
Lady Jane
Most English history dress up games pick a century and stay there. Lady Jane hands you the lot: Tudor hoods on one page, a Victorian riding hat a few pages later, and nothing stopping you wearing both at once.
The sleeves are the quiet reason it runs long. They hang on their own page and go on separately from the bodice, so a velvet bodice can wear a plain fitted sleeve, a bell sleeve lined in ermine, or a gold oversleeve that trails. Bodices, skirts and sleeves recolour on their own.
The line is soft and storybook rather than museum accurate, so a Rococo princess and a girl with a spaniel at her feet both look like they belong.
How to play Lady Jane
The chemise goes under the bodice, so a high neckline hides it completely. The jabots and the lace trims on the same page go over the top and always show. Most rows end with an X. That is how a piece comes off. The S button saves the picture. The R next to it is not an undo: it strips her back to the starting gown and sends you to the title screen.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of dress up game is Lady Jane?
An English history dress up game with a doll creator in front of it. Brows, eyes, nose and lips first, then the clothes.
What periods of English fashion are in it?
Tudor at one end, Victorian at the other, with Rococo in between. The headwear dates her more clearly than the gowns do: a gable hood is early Tudor, a little rose trimmed topper is centuries after it.
How many outfits are there?
Dozens. The wardrobe runs over several pages, and the colour palettes bring the same gown back in another fabric.
Can I change her hair and eye colour?
Yes. Hair in white, blonde, red, brown or black, eyes in blue, green or brown, and brows in blonde or black.
Can she have a pet?
A spaniel sits at her feet on the last page.
Can I save the finished look?
Yes. The S button on the last page saves the picture.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in the browser. It scales itself to the screen, and nothing needs dragging: every piece goes on with a single tap.
Is it free?
Free, with no account and no download.
