A centaur is a genuinely different styling problem, because only the top half takes clothing and the bottom half is the character.

That flips the usual weight. Coat colour, markings and how the two halves meet do more than any garment, and an outfit that ignores the horse entirely looks like a person standing behind one. The pieces that work are the ones that carry across the join: a colour picked up from the coat, a belt or drape that acknowledges where the body changes.
