Royal Offense is a strategy game and that means that there is an element of macromanagement involved, but can also take control directly of your units, so don't think that you can just stay and watch your units walk around on the screen. Your main task in Royal Offense is to build the units that your kingdom needs. To find the balance between building soldiers or people who collect taxes you will need to try out different strategies, but in time you will gain some intuition as to when the best time to recruit the appropriate units is.
