Daylight and evening are two different lighting conditions, and clothes behave differently in each. That is what makes this a better premise than a plain summer wardrobe.

In sun, colour is at full strength and anything shiny becomes loud. After dark, colour drains, and what survives is contrast, metal and anything that catches light. An outfit built for one will look either washed out or garish in the other, and playing both halves back to back makes that obvious in a way no amount of explanation does.
